Emma Jane Lamson

Emma Jane Seeley was born in York Township, May 28, 1842, being the youngest daughter of Prudence and Jesse Seeley, whose family numbered 15, there being nine sons and six daughters. Only four brothers are left; Harmon and Charlie of Mallet Creek; Nathan of California, and Allen of Lodi. She was the last of the daughters. She was united in marriage to John Lamson in 1861. To this union were born six children, two having died in infancy and the son, Bert having passed away six years ago and the daughter, Arlie, died three years ago. The two surviving daughters are Mrs. E. J. Frederick of Painesville, and Mrs. Jesse Curtis, of Medina, with whom she made her home. There are eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren to mourn her loss. She joined the church at an early age being a member of the M. P. church at Mallet Creek. She was bedfast less than one week and was tenderly cared for by her two daughters. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. Irwin of Medina, and the remains were laid to rest in Mallet Creek cemetery.
